Security features
We ran Dr.Web through a series of tests and here’s what we found:
- Security Features:Â Dr.Web is a feature-rich antivirus. It has a flexible scanner that taps into a cloud database, plus behavioral and heuristic checks. There are three scan modes: quick, full, and custom. We tried all, and they caught nearly all malware samples.
- Real-Time Protection:Â SpIDer Guard, the real-time scanner, stopped all incoming threats in our tests. It offers settings for heuristic checks and even how it deals with removable media.
- Preventive Measures:Â This tab includes anti-ransomware and exploit protection. We liked that you can customize how it responds to suspicious actions. It performed well in our tests, blocking risky apps and actions.
- Device & Data Safety:Â Dr.Web safeguards against unauthorized webcam and microphone access. It even prevents unwanted data transfers and lets you protect specific folders. These features worked smoothly in our tests.
- Parental Controls:Â Dr.Web provides extensive parental settings, from time limits to site blacklists. You can categorize content to restrict and tailor web access.
